Vulcan was one of our longest resident owls has sadly passed away this week.
Vulcan was seen in a London pet shop in 1979 by an elderly owl lover, He was advertised for sale as "An ideal family pet" This was certainly not the case! Horrified, she returned to work and press ganged fellow workers to raise enough money to buy him. Together they did this and she brought him to us so that he could live in a large aviary instead of being confined to a small cage for the rest of his life. He has lived in one of our largest aviary's for the past 32 years. As a foreign bird we were not allowed to release him into the wild. We all hope that he had the next best thing.
Vulcan - You will be missed.
